In his fifties Man Ray shaved half his face for the above self-portrait. Francis Naumann has suggested that this act may have referred to Man Ray's duel identity as an American artist with strong ties in Europe. He was living in Hollywood at the time he took the present phtograph (1942), and would return with his wife Juliet to Paris in 1951 to spent the rest of his life.

* Saturday March 1, 2003, visitors created an eager party crowd at the opening of Helgi Thorsson's exhibition at Galerie Van Gelder, Amsterdam, during which Felix Kubin and crew performed full blast in the installation 'Portable bar with mini-train'. The very last track during this alcohol drenched event graces the A-side - Felix on organ and MS20, Mark Boombastik on vocal, Klaus Oldanburg and Lucile Desamory on backing vocals. The flip brings us an eerie studio piece.
The cover art for this release is by Albert Oehlen. Limited edition by label Meeuw Muzak.
